Marketing Associate

The ability to get traction for a product is extremely valuable, and extremely rare. It's unusual to get the breadth of skills necessary to move the needle. There's no textbook, and the space is constantly in flux. There's no replacement for hands-on experience, but those opportunities are rare.

This is one of them.

Digital Intent is hiring a Marketing Associate to assist with marketing campaigns for clients, as well as internal marketing initiatives. This will be a unique opportunity to learn the essential skills in growing a product, using real world experience.


What You'll Learn:

  • How to get your first 1000 users starting from scratch.
  • How to get visibility in search engines and benefit from a repeating, snowball of organic traffic.
  • How to create compelling content at scale that gets shared on social and ranks on Google.
  • How to drive high quality, targeted traffic using paid channels.
  • What really works with social.
  • How to optimize retention and referral to build a virtuous cycle and maximize every dollar spent at the top of the funnel.
  • How to measure everything so you know what works and what doesn't.


Responsibilities May Include:

  • Conducting competitive and user research to customer archetypes and identify high level brand strategies.
  • Developing content pillars and creating and/or managing the creation of the content.
  • Conducting keyword research and optimizing content for long tail organic search.
  • Conducting outreach campaigns for guest posting, PR and link building purposes.
  • Using paid acquisition tactics to amplify the reach of content and nurture prospective users through the funnel.
  • Optimizing targeting, creative, and channel mix for paid acquisition campaigns.
  • Managing social accounts for client products.
  • Looking at in-app data to identify areas for improvement from a conversion optimization, retention and referral perspective.
  • Reporting to product teams on acquisition campaign performance.


What We're Looking For:

You don't have to have experience with growing products, but you need to have a few things:

  • You must be a great writer and communicator - include an example of a blog post or other writing sample.
  • You must have some design sense. You don't have to be a designer, but you need to know how to create artifacts for social and other purposes that reinforce the brand.
  • You must be hungry and outcomes-focused. You'll ultimately be measured on success, not on completing work.
  • You must be curious - you'll be learning a ton, and are expected to keep up. You're also expected to take it upon yourself to dig deeper and learn more on your own initiative.
